Sometimes It Gets Rough

Anyone can relate to this. When you feel like shutting down or going away and hiding from life. Rarely is this possible, though. If it is, it may not be the healthiest option, even though we think it is.

Sometimes this kind of thing can make us do dumb stuff. If we have goals, we can sabotage our own pursuits. We tend to lose sight of what is important to us because we are absorbed in self-pity and even self-destructiveness.

When I am on a diet, I get like this and think "tomorrow I will really start." Then I start the next day good and mess up and get hard on myself and the cycle starts over again.

If we are trying to stop a bad habit, we can end up in this cycle as well. Sometimes it gets rough and we can't always deal with
it the way we would like to be able to.

Other people at these times in our life can seem to be: supportive, difficult, funny, helpful, combative, weak, strong, useful, mean or unbelievably kind. It is all in the way we perceive those around us and our own problems.
